Worldwide Food Not Bombs
Community Solidarity
FNB NYC (Downtown)

How to Find Us

Bedford Stuyvesant Food Not Bombs shares food every Saturday at 3 p.m., regardless of weather, holidays, public events, etc., at the northwest corner of Von King (Tompkins) park, at Lafayette and Marcy. We want you to come and see and take part.

Foot Not Bombs is a worldwide movement made up of autonomous groups who believe that food and the other necessities of life are rights, not privileges. So we give food away and eat it ourselves. We are not doing charity but community, solidarity and celebration.

We get our food from donations by companies, stores, organizations, and individual people. Much of the food we share would be thrown away or otherwise wasted. Instead, it is made into nutritious vegan meals or distributed as-is, free to all who want it. Sometimes we give away flowers, too!

This is the way the world ought to be. Come and be part of it.

Volunteering to Help for and at Food Share:

Basically, all you have to do is show up shortly before 3 pm on any Saturday, regardless of weather, holidays, public events, etc., at the northwest corner of Herbert Von King Park in Beford-Stuyvesant, (Intersection of Lafayette and Marcy Avenues. Almost anyone there can tell you what's going on; no sign-up is necessary. If you want to communicate first, Call or text 718-666-5853
or send email to BSFNB@etaoin.com
This food is obtained from supermarkets, restaurants, stores, delis, and other businesses, institutions, events, and private parties. You can help collect it as well as distribute it.

Cooking at Home

Some of us prepare ready-to-eat, cooked vegan food at home and bring it to the Saturday food share or to Free Fridges (see below).

Community Cooking:

Some people enjoy cooking collectively. Unfortunately, we don't currently have access to a large commercial kitchen. We are working on finding one. If you would be interested in this project, contact one of our organizers (listed below).
